A New Way to Enjoy Japan's Fall Foliage: RV Camping by a Hot Spring

Planning a trip to Japan to enjoy the fall foliage? Hotels are no longer the only accommodation option! AQUAIGNIS, a hot spring resort complex in Komono, Mie Prefecture, Japan, officially opened RV Park AQUAIGNIS Yunoyama on October 28, 2026. The new facility allows travelers to park their RVs and enjoy overnight stays within the hot spring resort grounds.
Certified by the Japan RV Association, the campground is located in AQUAIGNIS's P1 parking lot and offers a total of 30 parking spaces, including 10 private spaces and 20 open parking spaces. Facilities include Wi-Fi, shared restrooms, and garbage disposal services. Private spaces also provide electrical hookups, giving RV travelers additional convenience.
One of the biggest attractions is the opportunity to enjoy hot springs while camping! Travelers can purchase separate admission tickets to Kataoka Onsen and experience natural hot spring water supplied directly from its source. The hot spring facilities remain open until midnight. The resort also offers desserts, bread, Italian cuisine, and Japanese cuisine, making it easy to enjoy a good meal during the stay.
Travelers who enjoy hiking and viewing fall foliage should also note that the campground is approximately a 15-minute drive from the Gozaisho Ropeway, making it a convenient base for a fall foliage excursion. For those planning to prepare simple outdoor meals beside their RV, the Gerber ComplEAT 16-Piece Camping Cook Set is another option. Its stainless steel cookware and utensil storage bag make organizing and carrying cooking essentials convenient, helping make outdoor cooking during the trip more enjoyable.
