Over 400 Anglers Gather for a 48-Hour Fishing Challenge!

Fishing isn't just a recreational activity—it can also be a competition that puts endurance and skill to the test! On October 23, 2026, the Hongshui River Cup Fishing Tournament officially kicked off in Luodian County, Qiannan Prefecture, Guizhou Province, attracting nearly 100 teams from Sichuan, Chongqing, Guangxi, Hunan, and other regions. More than 400 anglers gathered along the Hongshui River.

The tournament features 48 hours of continuous fishing, beginning at 12:00 noon on October 23 and scheduled to conclude at noon on October 25. Each team consists of four anglers, with fishing positions assigned by lottery. The team championship carries a prize of RMB 100,000, and special awards, including a prize for the largest individual fish, are also available.

Beyond testing fishing skills, the event emphasizes aquatic ecosystem protection and participant safety. Tournament rules require protected fish species to be released immediately after being caught, while other catches must also be released in an organized manner after weighing. Organizers have arranged medical, fire safety, and weather-related support measures to help ensure a safe competition.

During extended fishing sessions, efficient line organization and replacement are also important considerations. The Gerber LineDriver Fishing Line Management Tool combines six functions, including line threading and cutting, in a compact design that's easy to carry. Whether preparing fishing rigs or organizing fishing line, it helps anglers complete their tasks more efficiently.
